Is it better to have separate states or a united state?
Well, it'z nothing wrong to ask for a bifurcation. Before going into the above question, we need to know the origin of the agitation for a separate state though the language was same (Telugu).
Coming to the types of regions - Telangana is an arid region, Rayalaseema is an semi-arid region and Coastal Andhra is an agricultural region with full of agricultural fields. Telangana region is some what backward region when compared with the other two regions in terms of wealth in agriculture, water bodies, sanitation, literacy rate and well employed or well settled group of people. The only positive thing in this region is the capital city Hyderabad.
As mentioned above, the literacy rate is too less when compared with any other region of Andhra Pradesh. Ultimately the employment seeking opportunities and the capabilities to win over the other region people get reduced for these telangana region people. So the political leaders of that particular region asked the state(ruling party) for a special status or special consideration to setback the backwardness. But as we can expect the same routine story, the ruling parties neglected to provide special packages to bring it up. So that'z how the Telangana agitation came into the real gesture.
Why the people of Andhra and Rayalaseema are against to Bifurcation ?
The people of Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema are completely against to bifurcation because they were in the fear of loosing the capital city (Hub of employment opportunities), as the capital city Hyderabad was grown up with the revenue of all the regions. Also, the bifurcation leads to quarrels in the capital city Hyderabad as it was a mixture of people of all the remaining regions. Above all the people of these two regions feel that it was a selfish thing to ask for bifurcation(Telangana) along with the capital city. One can definitely expect what happens to a state without a capital (Growth with a good capital city became a difficult task these days) and also it takes so much time to construct a new capital city.
